Most graffiti artists use traditional materials to color their city: spray paint, mural paint, or perhaps paper. Some new artists, however, like Anna Garforth, have taken the graffiti art form further. Her graffiti literally comes to life, growing forth off the side of the buildings where she applies it.
You, too, can grow living graffiti on your walls. If you’re wondering how to make moss graffiti, all you need is some moss to get started, water, water-retention gardening gel, buttermilk, a blender, a spray bottle, and time.
Combine the ingredients in a blender (measurements below) and then paint the gel that forms on whatever surface where you wish to grow your moss graffiti. You can use a stencil for exact shapes, or go freehand for something more natural.
After that, all you need to do is spritz the moss with a spray bottle weekly, or more often if you live in a particularly dry area. Keep an eye out for straying moss, which you can dab out with lemon juice or trim with scissors once it gets long enough.
