The world of adult coloring is a very community-driven one, and nowhere does that show as much as through the variety of ways you can connect with other colorists. In-person coloring meetups are still very popular, there are many active coloring-related tags on Instagram, and there are even coloring subreddits, but nowhere is there such a robust and vibrant coloring community as through coloring Facebook groups.
In this post, I wanted to round up and share some of the many coloring-themed Facebook groups where you can go to share your work, ask questions, get feedback, and connect with other colorists.
I mean, who else can you turn to with conundrums like this one, amirite?
Some of them even share free coloring pages (Don’t forget! Cleverpedia has a whole library of free coloring pages available to our subscribers right here!), hold de-stashing events where you can swap supplies, and run periodic coloring contests!
Keep reading to learn more about the awesome Facebook coloring community, and how to get involved!

Facebook Coloring Group Etiquette: How to Share Your Colored Pages with a Coloring Group
Nearly every coloring group out there encourages its members to post their finished work (and even sometimes works in progress!) to share with the rest of the community. Do it! You put a lot of time and effort into that colored page and it deserves to be seen by an audience that will appreciate it!
Each coloring group has its own policies, so be sure to check the rules when you join. For example, some prefer you to share your colored pages in posts and some prefer them in albums. Some allow subtle self-promotion by artists and others strictly prohibit it. Some allow digital coloring pages and others do not. Some allow tasteful nudity or swearing books, and others do not. Always read the rules!
When you do share your work, however, there are a few things you don’t want to forget to share:
- The name of the book
- The name of the artist
- What you used to color it
Get ready for the flood of appreciative comments from other group members! Especially if you have used a special technique to color your page, be ready for questions about how it can be replicated.
Of course, you can’t expect to always gain without giving a little, so be sure to interact with other colorists in the group as well.
It should go without saying, but don’t criticize others’ colored pages unless they’ve asked for a critique and you have something constructive to offer. Some people are in it to learn all the coloring techniques they can, but some people just want to relax and color. And that is totally fine!
Some colorists put a small watermark over their colored page before sharing it to coloring groups. It is up to you, and not something you need to do by any means. In a perfect world, people would never steal others’ colored artwork and claim it as their own, but it has happened (why? I couldn’t tell you). So if you want to use a watermark, feel free.
A Quick Word on Free Coloring Pages Shared in Groups
While this is by no means true of every group, some groups have been known to rip off artists’ work and share pages for free that were never meant to be distributed.
It is one thing if an artist offers a page up to their audience or a particular group; it is an entirely different can of worms if colorists start swapping digital pages that were sold to one person only. Remember, these pages were created by real artists, and those artists are people who have to eat, pay bills, and put a roof over their head, just like you.
Respect those artists and their work by shutting down the illegal distribution of stolen coloring pages by reporting it to an admin and/or letting the artist know where their work is being distributed.
Remember, if something seems to good to be true, it probably is.
Don’t forget — we have a great collection of free coloring pages here on Cleverpedia, and ALL of these pages are shared with the express permission of the artists!
The Best Adult Coloring Facebook Groups
Below, you’ll find a list of all of the Facebook coloring groups I am aware of, in alphabetical order!
To create this list, I took into account the audience size (must be above a 1000 members to include) and the breadth of the postings. I am an active member in many of the groups listed! I have listed a brief summary of each group but have not listed any groups’ rules as these are subject to change.
I have chosen not to include groups dedicated to a particular artist, as these groups tend to be more limited in what can be shared. However, if you love a particular artist and discover they have a group, I highly encourage you to join — artists will often treat their fans to sneak previews of upcoming books and free pages.
Please use this list to find a community you’ll love to be a part of. Consider sharing Cleverpedia with them, if someone is looking for help with something I’ve got a post about! Please, please do not use this list to spam the heck out of these communities with your new book/coloring product. This list wasn’t intended to be used for the ways of evil!

There you go — now you can find the perfect coloring community for you on Facebook!
Very surprised to see The Cracked Crayon missing. It’s the 3rd biggest on Facebook.
Thanks for pointing out the omission, Shelly! It’s added!
Hello, thank you for including Clloring on the Darkside. A tip or 2:
when sharing don’t share just the line art. As noted in a perfect world nobody would copy it. If you want to show what your working on place a pencil on top of the page. Pages that have been partially colored can actually be turned into grayscale pages.
2. Have fun! This is the most important thing. Sometimes pictures will tell you how they want to be colored. Sometimes not.
Anyway if you seek us out be welcome!
Good advice! Thanks for sharing, I hadn’t really thought about how finished pages can be turned into grayscale pages before. :/
Coloring Book Goodies Coloring for Fun has over 3000 members and is a pretty active group with authorized free coloring pages. Looking forward to checking out some of these groups you listed that I haven’t heard of.
WOW! You did a lot of work here Adrienne. I am amazed at how many groups there are to follow if you want to. I am by no means a professional coloured or artist but I find when I make my cards I like to do my own backgrounds and colour my main pieces, so much more fun. I love to learn as much as I can about all of it! Thank you for taking your precious time for letting people like me know about these Facebook sites. My fav is Copics…πβ₯οΈππ¦
Absolutely! :) Glad you found the list helpful, and thanks for stopping by!
Hi, Where is Tim Jeffs colouring group Intricate Ink Animals in Detail by Tim Jeffs. He is a grayscale animal artist and we have over 10,000 people in our group! :)
Jo, they specify that they donβt include groups specific to an individual artist. xoxo Jill
Wow!!! That’s my art is the ‘Adult Coloring Books’ this is incredible!!! Thank you for such a great and informative read Adrienne!!!
are there individual coloring groups like for people that like cats or horses and unicorns – these are my favorites to color
just noticed your name was Adrienne – thats funny as my middle name is Adrienne too
2 groups i am in – coloring books for adults and creative haven – i dont see listed
I’m still lost even with this huge list. I need a group that is truly a beginner group. The groups that include everyone are so intimidating, they’re not helping me at all. I just left one because the work is just so beyond beginner.
