Things are heating up in the presidential primaries, with a few key contenders remaining on the Republican side, and just two players on the Democratic side.
Who will win over our hearts, minds, and colored pencils?
I have to admit, when I noticed the Trump Coloring Book, I guffawed, but I didn’t think too much of it until I saw Bernie’s coloring book. Then I knew I had to put together something about this hilarious trend.
None of these books are really “adult” coloring books in terms of the actual difficulty of the linework. (Though I will admit, Hillary’s has some pretty nice artwork!) However, they are “adult” enough in subject matter — I’m willing to bet that more adults will see the humor in these than kids!

Whether you #FeelTheBern or just want to Make America Great Again, I’ve got just the political coloring book for you…
The Trump Coloring Book
This coloring book is going to be HUGE!
What can I say? The Donald is here, and he’s here to stay. I think his off-color remarks make him the perfect subject for a coloring book. You can really show him in his true colors, whatever they may be!
The situations shown in this book range from the hilariously improbable to the completely preposterous, all the better for a presidential candidate who seemed absolutely preposterous in the first place.
Around 55 drawings to color, printed single-sided, so the reverse side is left blank. Great gag gift for a Trump supporter or hater alike. Everyone has an opinion on this guy!
Hillary: The Coloring Book
Unlike some of the books on this list, this is actually pretty legit. The book takes you through Hillary Clinton’s life in chronological order, cataloguing everything from her childhood to the launch of her 2016 presidential race. The pages are a lot more detailed and each illustration is accompanied by a lengthy description. Maybe a little too lengthy. This coloring book really seems to take itself seriously, which feels pretty weird after that last one.
There are thirty pages, and while the reverse of each isn’t blank, you don’t necessarily have to color them either, so there’s no worry if your markers bleed through.
Ted Cruz to the Future: Comic Coloring & Activity Book
Impressively, this Ted Cruz coloring book was published not in 2016, nor 2015, nor even 2014… it was published all the way back in 2013. 2013! Was Ted Cruz even a blip on the presidential radar back then?!
Apparently he was to somebody!
Unlike the other books here (and definitely unlike the next one in this list) this book is positioned totally to children as, I suppose, an educational aid. As one page reads, the book “is designed as educational tool [sic]. It does not constitute an endorsement of Ted Cruz. The coloring book is based on a fair and objective review on this positive role model and real life superhero.” Alright.
The preview images here actually come from a supplement released as a followup to the original book, so your copy may or may not contain these actual pages. Rest assured, however, that the pages it does contain will be all Cruz, all the time.
Buff Bernie: A Coloring Book For Berniacs
Feel the Bern!
I have to admit, I was a little horrified upon first seeing this book. What have they done?! But I’ve gotta say, Buff Bernie has grown on me the tiniest bit.
It’s just 20 pages and pretty simple, but it would make the perfect gag gift for a rabid Bernie fan, or really any political junkie. Get it. Get it nowww.
Well, there we have it… four crazy political coloring books about four crazy political candidates.
