As a society, we love our animals. They are there for us in our times of need, and us in theirs. But by nature, we just tend to outlive our pets, even when we give them the most special care in the world. That’s why it’s important to appreciate every day, and love them as much as we can.
These 27 pet owners clearly love their pets – and they are documenting their growth and life changes across the months and years.
They grow up so fast.
It took 5 months for this tiny puppy to grow into this handsome fellow…
And just half a year for these cats to go from adorable kitten to entirely filling up the containers they’re in:
This kitty has outgrown his favorite toy:
It’s amazing what 7 months did to this puppy…
and what 1 year meant for this cat (who loves this rolling chair):
But still, animal friendships prevail, whether they have shared three months…
…or 3 entire years.
Our furry friends will still try to cram themselves into places they can’t fit, 3 months later…
They might even try for a whole year:
And they’ll still balance themselves on our shoulders even when they get bigger. This puppy is still doing it 4 years later!
Six months later…
And a year:
And they have grown up with us.
They have followed us through major life changes…
…and we’ve been there for theirs.
These two have gone 10 years together:
And this little guy has gone from lap sized to oversized:
They see us grow up as they grow up. Here’s 4 years apart:
14 years…
17 years…
and 17 years again…
These two pets and owners have grown up together for 16 years (and after all that time, sleepy cuddles are still the way to go).
Our pets carry us through our awkward phases…
…but after 21 years, what’s awkward anymore?
One thing’s certain… even 10 years later, or for the rest of our lives, we will love each other as much as we did the moment we met.
